Sneakers, 2007 latex on panel. Starting bid $50. This painting is designed to react with warm and cool light to shift image dominance from one shoe to the other. Install your own lightbulbs to fully enjoy this piece of artwork if you buy it at the silent auction on Friday. 

In progress shot: part of a collaborative canvas with Wombat. The painting of this piece from start to finish is documented in the video feed at Anima Cogitat: every artist in the auction has in some way participated in the making of the video portion of this installation. Starting bid on this is $1000.

This piece is an experiment, informed by what we did last year at EMF in Cambridge - an environment with paint and video elements in a public window display, with some live action incidents. Basically over the 2 weeks that the show will be up I'll be in the space pretty much every day making new art of my own and having a few friends come by, and showing video in the window of the gallery at night - Broadway will be our theater. Each Friday we'll have a "key frame" event at 8pm, so stop by to watch from streetside if you're in the Bushwick area. On Friday the 27th there'll be a reception with music by Mr. Andersonic. Come see for yourself.

Friday April 13 - Anima Cogitat opens. Live painting performance at 8pm (aprox 30 minutes - best viewed from the sidewalk!), informal reception inside the gallery afterwards.

Friday April 20- Performance at 8pm (aprox 30 minutes - looks good from outside). Drop in after to check it out if you're there..

Friday April 27 - Final live painting at 8pm (aprox 30 minutes, again best viewed form outside), reception afterwards with silent auction (pieces by Tigher Clark and colaborating artists created during the time span of this show for sale - bidding stops at 10pm.) Mr. Andersonic will play music till late.
